Rates and Cancellation Policy

Therapy:
Dr. O'Connor's hourly rate is $245 (last updated 2023) for individual, couples, and family therapy. Psychological services are not covered under the general BC Medical Plan, even with a Physician’s referral. However, most extended medical care plans (e.g., Blue Cross, Sunlife, Great West Life) do cover the services of a Registered Psychologist. Coverage usually renews each January. The amount of coverage varies considerably across different plans, and you should therefore contact your insurer directly to find out the extent of your coverage. You may also want to ask whether the amount is per family or per family member per calendar year. Payment is made to Dr. O'Connor at the end of each session and a formal receipt will be provided. You can then arrange reimbursement directly with your insurance provider.

Cancellation Policy:
48 hours. Appointments not canceled 48 hours ahead of time will be billed the full amount (245) with the exception of a sudden medical emergency. Cancellations can be done via voicemail or email; both are time-stamped.

Methods of Payment:
Debit Card, Visa, Mastercard, e-transfer (auto-deposit is enabled).

Note that Psychological services (conducted by a Registered Psychologist) can also be claimed as a health care expense on your income tax.
